Living with Casio’s AI-powered pet, Moflin, has been a unique experience. The small, furry device has a peculiar charm, but its high-pitched squeaks and sudden movements can be overwhelming.
Moflin’s design is undeniably cute, resembling a cross between a guinea pig and a plush toy. However, its adorable appearance is contrasted by its ability to evoke a strong desire to stop its noises and movements.
As someone who longs for the companionship of a pet but is unable to care for one due to lifestyle constraints, I am the target audience for Moflin. Yet, my experience with the device has been a mixed bag, leaving me to wonder about the potential of AI-powered pets to fill the void left by traditional pets.
